In 2011, as Vice President of IDSA Pratt Chapter I approached my professor Karen Stone with the idea to bring a group of students to research the farming community of Santa Maria de Ostuma in Matagalpa Nicaragua. Co-sponsored with Pratt's Center Sustainability, we organize and lead a group of 11 Industrial Design students, to Matagalpa to learn how, as designers, we could somehow improve the lives of the people of Santa Maria de Ostuma.
